FANART

Fan art or fanart is artwork created by fans of a work of fiction and derived from a series character or other aspect of that work. As fan labor, fan art refers to artworks that are neither created nor commissioned or endorsed by the creators of the work from which the fan art derives. Every character deserves it.

SMILE, MR. VOORHEES!

Our boy Jason was never supposed to be the star. “It’s evident just a few minutes in to movies like Jason Lives and Jason X that Mr. Voorhees is the star of the show. Horror audiences aren’t so much rooting for the generally unlikable victims to survive as they are looking for increasingly thrilling and inventive kills. It’s a very specific type of cinematic escapism, to be sure. But originally, Friday the 13th was intended to be an anthology series. Each movie would have taken place, presumably, on Friday the 13th”.

10 Jason Voorhees Facts You Never Knew Until NowRYAN J. DOWNEY, MOVIEWEB.com

“But not only did Jason become the series star after his terrifying reemergence at the end of the first film, but the date in the title became something of a moot point. The first two movies take place on Friday the 13th, but Part III takes place the following day, Saturday the 14th (not to be confused with the 1981 horror comedy.) Part IV takes place on Sunday and Monday. After that, it seems like the series’ producers mostly abandoned the device. We did ultimately get a Friday the 13th anthology series on television. Unlike the anthology series Freddy’s Nightmares, which featured Freddy as host and occasional star, 1987’s Friday the 13th: The Series was Jason free. I mean the dude doesn’t talk”.

O HOMEM-TELEFONIA 1948

Don’t feel sorry for him

Believe me, he isn’t even in jail. See, these are not jail bars, they are just two poles where this insane space green monkey plans his next criminal act. A bandit, an intergalactic villain always ready to make trouble to the lawmen of space. He was born from a small exploration of Photoshop brushes years ago and was forgotten in some layer of my backuped files. Now he finally sees the light so that this blog can stay alive for another day. So, is he really a villain or a hero?

MY LITTLE HOMAGE TO SAUL BASS

The incredible graphic designer best known for his design of motion-picture title sequences, film posters, and corporate logos. During his 40-year career, Saul Bass worked for some of Hollywood’s most prominent filmmakers, including Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese. Among his most famous title sequences are the animated paper cut-out of a heroin addict’s arm for Preminger’s The Man with the Golden Arm, the credits racing up and down what eventually becomes a high-angle shot of a skyscraper in Hitchcock’s North by Northwest, and the disjointed text that races together and apart in Psycho. He had the awesomest signature ever always along with his super cool stamp of a caricature of his own face on a sea bass body.

GO AHEAD, ASK.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, young man, this is how you get to places – asking. The answers are not always what you expect, and this is very good, especially if you ask them for our little Absinthe Devil, with his tailored suit and his smartass face. He’s good with words and most of the time you almost believe that he is your friend and not acting completely in his own interests. Almost, I said. He lives inside your head and appears when you most need a friend or a decent company. The good part is that you are not left without an answer, if he doesn’t know, he’ll make it up and from then on it’s up to you. So go ahead, ask, don’t be polite and always, always trust alcohol.

PROBABLY THE MOST BADASS IMAGE EVER PRODUCED

John James Rambo first appeared in the 1972 novel First Blood by David Morrell, but later became more famous as the protagonist of the film series, in which he was played by Sylvester Stallone. The portrayal of the character earned Stallone widespread acclaim and recognition. The character was nominated for American Film Institute’s list 100 Years…100 Heroes and Villains. The term “Rambo” is used commonly to describe a person who is reckless, disregards orders, uses violence to solve problems, enters dangerous situations alone, and is exceptionally tough, callous, raw and aggressive. Morrell says that in choosing the name Rambo he was inspired by “the sound of force” in the name of Rambo apples, which he encountered in Pennsylvania.

Godzilla ゴジラ is a fictional monster, or kaiju, originating from a series of Japanese films of the same name. The character first appeared in Ishirō Honda’s 1954 film Godzilla and became a worldwide pop culture icon, appearing in various media, including 32 films produced by Toho, three Hollywood films and numerous video games, novels, comic books and television shows. Godzilla has been dubbed the King of the Monsters, a phrase first used in Godzilla, King of the Monsters!, the Americanized version of the original film. Godzilla is depicted as an enormous, destructive, prehistoric sea monster awakened and empowered by nuclear radiation. With the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Lucky Dragon 5 incident still fresh in the Japanese consciousness, Godzilla was conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons.
